🌍 Ministry Spotlight: Congregational Fellowship Luncheons

Every third month on the 2nd Sunday we have a Fellowship Meal in the Ruby Jean Knight Fellowship Hall where everyone brings a dish or 2 and we simply fellowship with each other. Often times we share with the ReNuevo Church. They are a Latin congregation, so we become very international with our Camaroonian congregation members also. It lends itself to lots of camaraderie and fun!

Often times also, we host special events there such as the breakfast and lunch for the annual Oklahoma and Texas Presbytery and a reception following our annual Jazz concert. We always have a very nice Christmas Fellowship Meal in December.

The Christian Women’s Fellowship (CWF) in Cameroon is known for its vibrant musical ministry, especially through local singing groups. Their performances blend worship, cultural pride, and community outreach. The Christian Women’s Fellowship (CWF) of Cameroon has long been a beacon of spiritual strength, community leadership, and musical excellence. Among its most inspiring expressions is the vibrant ministry of the CWF singers—women whose voices carry the message of Christ across continents.

🎶 A Brief History of Christian Women’s Fellowship

The Christian Women’s Fellowship (C.W.F.) was constitutionally created by the synod of the Presbyterian church in Cameroon in the year 1961.  Key leaders at that time were Anne Maurer, Rose Maria, Peter and Maria Schlenker which all follow the Basel mission in Switzerland. The C.W.F. of Arlington is composed principally of women from St. John Cumberland, Arlington and First Presbyterian of Fort Worth.  They are not just a women’s movement but a way of life, that the women have chosen to lead.

The C.W.F. have a study book which comprises of bible study, bible meditation, introspection retreats, and basic study for social and economic transformation. The C.W.F. motto is “Serve the Lord with joy.” (Psalm 100:2) The C.W.F. greeting is “If anyone is in Christ he is a new creation.

The old is gone, the new has come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Today the movement has spread around the world with a total of about 46,000 women. Christian Women’s Fellowship came to America 22 years ago and has about eighteen groups in the USA of which Arlington is one of them. Every year the movement organizes an annual convention where the groups come together to evangelize and enjoy fellowship.  They are open to all women age 18 and up.

Christian Women’s Fellowship continues to grow spiritually, economically, and socially.

We were honored to host the Justin Pierce Jazz Band at our church. Led by acclaimed saxophonist Justin Pierce, this ensemble is known across Dallas–Fort Worth for bringing soulful sophistication, world-class musicianship, and timeless jazz energy to every performance. Their repertoire spans beloved jazz standards, smooth swing, Latin rhythms, and even New Orleans–style brass, creating an atmosphere that is both elegant and joyful.
